DIALOG BETWEEN MYSELF AND THE MATERIAL WORLD
At the simple, classical level of daily activity, we clearly have an effect on matter. We mould it and make it, we digest it, burn it, cool it, break it down and build it up again, etc. And at this same simple level, matter and its processes clearly have an effect on us. The food that I eat can poison or nourish me, the rock lying on my path can trip me and break my toe, the locked door at the side of the house can stop me from getting into the garden. More basic still, the chemicals in the earth and the sunlight which shines upon them are necessary to the existence and functioning of my body, as are the oxygen that I breathe and the water that I drink. My body and all its physical needs are clear evidence of an essential dialogue between myself and the material world. (DANAH ZOHAR ON THE QUANTUM SELF)
