Singapore Inc. is working with efficiency by raising productivity and relying less on foreign labour. This strategy will cause the Singapore Inc. become a business entity in which the role of human with his intellectual asset will put in the priority.

Less dependency on foreign labour within business context could be interpretated as to give more opportunity for locals to be more concern with their own home. But, this will give price to the existence of market mechanism. The market regime will always make equilibrium between supply and demand. It means that market will look for the most efficient place to live and grow.

The competition is not between locals and foreigners but mainly between the most efficient and the less one. In other words, it's about the skills, labour skills. The skillfull individuals will be the winner. This is not the end. Definition of "skilled" individuals is market orientation. Market will define or give the definition. But. this might be a very conventional reason. In fact, there are many alternatives for "non-conventional" reason. In this case authenticity is the best answer.
