What brings together ...

This photo was taken some time in last August during lunch out at Nasi Padang Pariaman restaurant. The restaurant was located in Arab Street - Malay Heritage Singapore. The host was Ms Susi Teo (sitting next to our "big boss" Brother Larry), Vice Principal for Pastoral Care. She is originated from Bandung - Indonesia, and has been with the school since the inception in 2007. It is always with the smiling spirit of friendship that bring us together. With and in the meal everything is "settled". Why? The food was good and we enjoyed it. Then, the conversation started to flow and followed a natural mood. When you get the taste, you find what you want - the happiness.

All you need is just table, chair and the food. But, you should not be busy with the food. The real consumption is the atmosphere. Outside themselves is a role. They are labelled with different "earthly" roles. Sometimes, their roles go to certain conversation. During conversation, some might have many things in their experience. That will make them become so occupied and to certain degree - control the conversation.

The food can bring you together as you "digest" your good feeling. It is a bit noisy because of exchange of ideas. Be mindful with the multi-tasking: eating and talking. It is a communication skill, and "table manner" that brand you. You get what you do....
